Great hiking shoe
Reviewed by Traveler from SC on Sunday, February 18, 2018
I really like the Stealth (sticky rubber) soles! This is my 4th pair of Five Ten hiking shoes over a period of 20 years. They are the best hikers I've ever worn. They run a little short so if you're in between sizes order up. They are a shoe with lots of support. Although I usually use these sh... Read More

  • Despite sizing, really great shoes
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Akhedmn from West Virginia on Monday, May 7, 2018
I am usually a size 7, and after I read reviews, I ordered a size 7.5. I had to return them for a size 8 which fit like a glove. They are really comfortable and I love the soles. They seem to be well made and durable. However, I would need a size 8.5 if I wanted to wear them with thick socks.
  • Cool cherry!

Neat shoe. Great color. Super arches. BUT SHORT. I wear 7.5 or 8, always order 8 on line. Should have gone for 8.5! But by time I got them, the cool cherry color was gone. And since the 8 is ALMOST long enough, maybe even IS long enough (optimist that I am), I decided to keep them! Too cool to let go...

  • Great for scrambling

On my third pair my favorite hiking shoe for rock climbing
  • Too small
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rocket from Honolulu on Saturday, March 24, 2018
Wanted to love them, but they run 1/2 size too small. I wear an 8.5 M in almost all shoes/boots. These are too short. Width felt okay and the insole seemed supportive.

  • “Going to be hiking in Moab Utah this summer. Will this she be too hot? Does it breath?”
Asked by Tracey from Illinois on 4/8/2018 5:30:51 AM
    • This shoe does not breath much. However, I did use these when I was in Moab a few years ago. I really like the way the Stealth sticky rubber sole gets a good grip on the smooth rocks out there. I never gave a thought to the shoe not breathing even though it was August in Utah and quite warm. The good support of these shoes and the fact that they have a good grip on rocks are the shoes best features. Best hiking shoes for me..

    • I have also used them for hiking in Moab. I would pick these over some of the better-ventilated shoes because these will keep more sand out.

    • These shoes are leather so will be warmer than some. Nice sturdy shoe!

About Five Ten

Five Ten is a family-owned company dedicated to producing superior climbing shoes, approach shoes and outdoor footwear. Founded by veteran rock climber Charles Cole in 1985, Five Ten has been reinventing the climbing shoe since day one. Starting by creating an all-new, high-friction rubber compound for shoe soles that he would later dub "Stealth," Cole set out to enhance gripping power and make rock climbing safer in the process. Today, Five Ten climbing shoes like the Anasazi slipper and Prima shoe are worn by some of the world’s best rock climbers. In fact, even endorsed climbers who are paid to wear shoes by other companies resole with Five Ten's Stealth climbing soles. When it comes to performance on the rock face, few other companies hold a candle to Five Ten shoes.
