Runs small

I wear a Mens 10. Purchased 10.5, with cotton socks, could barley get the shoe on.
Ordered a 12, will update my review when the 12 show.
Besides the sizing problem, it looks to be a well made show, with the stealth C4 rubber

  • Great all around shoe

Have been climbing for three years now and climb mostly 5.10 and 5.11s. I am not a fan of immediately taking shoes off after a pitch and keep mine on the whole climbing session. These shoes fit my needs perfectly. They are small as other reviewers mention. I’m a 8.5 to 9 street size and got a 9.5 in these. My toes were curled and borderline too tight. After two days of climbing though, they’ve stretch slightly to the perfect size. Heel cup fits well with no empty space. The uppers are soft and slipper like. The Sole is great for smearing and quite soft so not the best edgers but I prefer soft soles. Great shoe and sorry to see it discontinued.
  • Decent shoe

The rubber is quite soft so you can feel the edges under your feet, they have decent grip and edging, I've had to be a little mindful of how I place my feet so I don't slip off and test my footing before I proceed. They're a little hard to get into thinner cracks, meaning they're a little thick at the toe. I love the heel cup though, it has a nice firm squeeze and my heel doesn't slip in them at all. They're not aggressive at all, very flat. Overall they're a fine shoe, would be good for long climbs so your feet aren't killing you by the end, quite comfortable, but not for higher level climbs.
  • not true to size!

I really wanted these shoes to fit, they seemed great but the length was just not right. I have a narrow foot and got information to order starting with my street shoe size. I wear an 11 1/2 street shoe pretty consistently but after ordering and returning the 11 1/2, the 12, the `12 1/2, and the 13, I ran out of sizes. Even in the 13s my big toes were uncomfortably bent against the end and rubbed painfully on the top of the shoe. By comparison, the La Sportivas I have I ordered 1/2 size down and they are a perfect fit and about 3/8" longer than the Five-Tens in a size 13. Too bad for me. In all other respects they felt great. Soft, glove-like fit, no pinch spots, no heel slip, speed lacing made for easy on/off and a good adjustable fit. Good looking shoes too. Soles are fairly flexible.

About Five Ten

Five Ten is a family-owned company dedicated to producing superior climbing shoes, approach shoes and outdoor footwear. Founded by veteran rock climber Charles Cole in 1985, Five Ten has been reinventing the climbing shoe since day one. Starting by creating an all-new, high-friction rubber compound for shoe soles that he would later dub "Stealth," Cole set out to enhance gripping power and make rock climbing safer in the process. Today, Five Ten climbing shoes like the Anasazi slipper and Prima shoe are worn by some of the world’s best rock climbers. In fact, even endorsed climbers who are paid to wear shoes by other companies resole with Five Ten's Stealth climbing soles. When it comes to performance on the rock face, few other companies hold a candle to Five Ten shoes.
