Great shell, but watch the fit

I really hope the next size up works, because this looks like and excellent shell. I'm 6'2", 185#. athletic. The sizing seems to be a Swedish version of sizes, not American. I ordinarily wear a large, but this shell in large feels too tight in the body and too long in the sleeves. No way I can w... Read More

  • Great looking shell, definitely not BIFL

Bought this for hiking and rain protection. I also used it for my rare snowboarding day trip 1-2 times per year. 2 years after I purchased it, I took it outside on a rainy day, and water started seeping down my neck. Probably going to stick with GoreTex from here on out.
  • Terrific jacket

Was looking for a versitile shell. This is the one. Perfect on a 40 degree, windy day at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. Would say fit is accurate. Plenty of room for fleece mid layer. XL is still tailored well to six foot 190lbs frame. (Think I'm supposed to say "athletic frame" but that sounds a bit too presumptuous. ) agree that sleeves are a bit long, but with Velcro closures, who cares? Better long than short. Pockets: just three, but pretty well planned. Exterior hand pockets, clever, slightly high but double for hand warmer and stash as well. Only negative is a common one. Interior zip pocket occupies same area as exterior hand pocket. Go figure.

Great outer shell jacket in cold wet weather or alone by itself on slightly cool days!

Arrived just in time for #stormageddon, and despite the storm being mild the jacket has preformed really well. Great breathable, weather proof, lightweight jacket. A new go to.
  • nice but flimsy

I literally pulled on the hood strings once and both of the little nubbings at the ends of the strings pulled off. The vents also cut into my sides when I'm sitting. The material and overall look of the coat is nice though.

  • “The only review for this jacket mentions that it is sized a bit small. If I am 6'4" and an athletic 220# what size should I order?”

    • I answered my own question by finding the Fjallraven website and size chart. I have a 44" chest and it looks like I am an XXL. XL is 41"-42" chest and L is 39"-40".

    • I'm 6'3" 190#, athletic. I needed extra large, which ended up fitting well over a fleece. Large was too small. Your size, I'd guess XXL.
