  • It's amazingly warm and light
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Alaska Brandon from Willow, Alaska on Sunday, January 28, 2018
I absolutely love my new Keb down jacket. I live in Alaska where it's routinely -20 F (-30 C) or colder in the winter. I've always just worn lots of layers under a thin shell jacket unless it's extremely cold or extremely cold and windy. After 20 years in Alaska I thought I'd try a new approach. It's amazing to walk outside in the morning with a thin thermal shirt under this coat and feel nothing. It's like an impenetrable layer against the cold. I"m 6'4" 196 lbs, 41" around chest, 16 1/2" neck, fairly wide shoulders and long arms. Arm length is perfect, chest is a little large which I expected, but leaves me plenty of room to layer a thick wool sweater for extended cold weather outings. I considered a Large and it probably would've fit but every other coat I own is an XL so even knowing that Fjallraven usually is made for tall people I purchased the XL and am happy with the fit. It's very lofty probably about 2" of puff, has big deep front pockets, a great fitting adjustable hood, and the built in suspenders will be handy when shoveling in the cold. We volunteer to put in Denali Base Camp in the spring and this is definitely coming with me this year. This weight to warmth ratio on this coat is the finest I've ever owned. I do have an old Comfy expedition coat that I've used for extreme cold situations but it's so heavy that I often didn't bring it. This coat is now part of my essential survival gear. I own other Fjallraven gear and all are extremely well made. My Swedish roots must have given me the perfect body size for their clothing. Think long and lean versus short and round when thinking of the ideal Fjallraven body type and you won't be disappointed. Have a great Winter and stay warm out there.
  • Impeccable

A great, jacket, the absolutely warmest I own. Nothing else kept me comfortable in the below zero temperatures last week. Lightweight, roomy, thoughtful details, packable, excellent hood, wind proof and very warm. And a steal at the STP discounted price
  • Amazing construction, awful sizing
Verified Buyer Reviewed by jazz focus from New Jersey on Thursday, January 11, 2018
I got this amazingly well made jacket at a steal price in a medium. I'm 5' 9 145lb and usually get medium (like a Marmot). I could have fitted two of me in this jacket. Elephant sizing. Not only that, but it's way too big in the waist area---no taper at all. I imagine an xs would have fit me but I don't even know if they make that. I sadly returned it to STP near me. I bet someone already bought it off the rack there. It would have to be a very "plus size" individual. I don't understand how a company like this is so clueless on getting the fit even close to accurate.
  • Amazing Quality!

I have been a Fjallraven fan for a few years now and was looking to get into a below zero temp jacket for northern Minnesota outdoor winter activities. This jacket is by far the warmest jacket I have ever worn! Will be using it this weekend snowshoeing! Jacket runs slightly on the larger side. Usually an XL with Patagonia, North Face, etc., but had to get a Large for this jacket.
  • High quality warm jacket. Poor zipper.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rob g from New england on Thursday, January 4, 2018
Would bec5 stars if not for zipper. I would size down. I’m 5’8 with a 43” chest wide shoulders and the large was a bit big. Way to long too. However was able to use the waist cinches and it fit much better almost like a bomber.

I wanted to use for climbing but cant trust the zipper. They are terrible. They get jammed even using with bare hands both zipping up and down. Would be impossible with gloves.

Otherwise a great jacket and warmest i’ve owned.

    • chest sizes are not accurate. I ordered a 42" (L) and it fit like an XL (probably close to 44"+ chest)

About Fjallraven

The Fjallraven story started more than 60 years ago when a 14-year old named Ake Nordin began trekking in the mountains of his native northern Sweden. Eventually, Ake started to notice the backpacks of the time didn't bear loads well, and decided to build his own. Within a decade, Ake was creating backpacks under the name Fjallraven, which translates to Arctic Fox in Swedish. Today, Fjallraven backpacks, jackets, fleece and outdoor apparel are helping people discover and enjoy the great outdoors all over the world. Choose Fjallraven packs and outdoor gear, and take your adventure to new heights.
