The large pockets can hold a large spare spool and a small fly box, 3 swanky zipper pockets and i'm still finding more pockets. Did I mention the pockets? Inside is nice too with a nice topographic ripple pattern on a mesh lining. Thankfully they didn't try to put any more pockets in here. Hope the nice fat striper ladies can't resist.
  • Love it, but...

I do love Fjallraven stuff - the quality is great and I like, from what I have, that it's something I can maintain and not throw out because the waterproofing has come off. They actually encourage you to do it. So I loved this vest - quality and style are great. When I look at reviews, I'm always looking for 'how did it fit' and 'what's the reviewer's shape/size?' Reading 'it fits great!' doesn't help me much :) So - I'm a weird size - so it's difficult in European clothes, to know what will work so I got both a M and L and was going to return the one that didn't work. I'm 5'9, 42" chest with a fluxuating 36-34" (true measurement, not pants size) around the middle. I workout but am no bodybuilder.

Medium fit: a little snug in the chest but it's a vest and I live in California so I'm not going to need to do a lot of layers. I could zip it up (barely made it around my middle and I'm closer to a 34" right now. It was slimming but when I checked out how it looked in the back, it was clearly stretching and bunching above my butt. (I squat a lot.)

Large fit: much more comfortable up top and can certainly layer or not without issues but its a bit too voluminous on the bottom. I find, for my shape/build the type of pockets this vest has - it needs to fit perfect or it looks like I've gained 10lbs in the gut, even if nothing is in the pockets.

I really wanted to keep the vest but returned it - I also tried out their Wild vest - which fit much better (in L) but that's because the material and pocket design are different. I like the Reporter Lite vest material better but alas... if only it came in a Medium/Large!

About Fjallraven

The Fjallraven story started more than 60 years ago when a 14-year old named Ake Nordin began trekking in the mountains of his native northern Sweden. Eventually, Ake started to notice the backpacks of the time didn't bear loads well, and decided to build his own. Within a decade, Ake was creating backpacks under the name Fjallraven, which translates to Arctic Fox in Swedish. Today, Fjallraven backpacks, jackets, fleece and outdoor apparel are helping people discover and enjoy the great outdoors all over the world. Choose Fjallraven packs and outdoor gear, and take your adventure to new heights.
