I got my first pair back in the 80's. They are dressy enough to wear for a job interview (which I did), and comfortable enough to wear at work all day (which I also did).

The brand new shoes had a couple of scuff marks on them when we took them out of the box, and it was obviously due to the packaging.
I think we'll be able to make it work with some shoe polish, rather than go through the hassle of returning them. But a little frustrating nonetheless.
