Sierra Trading Post recommends ordering 1/2 size down in this boot, which in my case meant getting a 7 1/2 for my size 8 foot. It fit well, but I also ordered an 8 in another color, and it was barely longer and only slightly wider. I kept it as well. Thanks Sierra Trading Post for selling so many hi... Read More

I bought these thinking they were more of a performance boot for hiking. They are style boots that look like hiking boots-no support or tread to speak of.

These boots are great. Seem very durable. Good Frye quality. They are extremly comfortable (although heavy). The only nitpicky thing I don't like is the laces. They are way too thick and don't stay tied. A double knot solves that problem though. I'm going to buy some for my father in law. I highly recommend these boots (especially at the STP price!).

Out of the box, I loved the look of these boots. Also, STP was right, order a half size down. I'm normall b/w a 10.5 and 11 (usually favoring 11), but the 10.5 fit perfectly. Pros, good construction, good look, seem durable, all leather. Cons, they need some breakin in, they are stiff. Another con, I hate the shoe laces....don't know why. Maybe I'm picky, but the shoelaces are really bulky. Otherwise, I really like these boots and would buy them again (assuming the break in like I think they will).

Only issue was that the small Frye nameplate on the sole of the right boot, which had four small nails in each corner, fell out within the first day. Not that big of a deal(no negative effect upon the structure of the boot itself) just a little annoying, especially because it was a Frye product. Also made in Mexico...I expected it to be made in the U.S.
