About Fulling Mill
The history behind Fulling Mill flies can actually be traced back to the early 1930s, when avid fisherman Denis Whetham took up the art of fly tying. Within a few years, his hobby eventually led him to create a business. By the 1960s, Whetham had grown his company from one employee (himself) to 30 employees. After selling his tackle company in the late ‘60s, Whetham eventually got back into the game by helping a friend setup a fly-tying company in Kenya. That company, then known as Unwin & Sons, eventually became Fulling Mill. Today, Fulling Mill flies are still crafted according to the stringent quality standards set forth by Denis Whetham and Andy Unwin more than 40 years ago.
