5.0 out of 5 stars. Not Disappointed - far from it.

A number of years ago I had a Garment boot, and loved it. Unfortunately it was discontinued. I then switched to an Asolo backpacking boot which I loved too, but now is no longer available again (went through 3 pairs of the Asolo - I hike every week). So I found this Garmont. Very similar to the original Garment I had.

I like the robust quality. I used to mountain climb (now 70 so only hike) and prefer a boot built to with stand ruff terrain. Just took then on a hike of 10+ miles and 3,500' w/ some very steep uneven trails and small stream crossings. They did quite well.

I did order a half size larger. Seems fine on fit. The lace system is different, but gives some unique abilities on how to adjust the pressure over the lower foot vs upper/ankles. I just found out I need to put less pressure on the top of my foot due to a bone spur. It gives me flexibility to do that.

I just bought the Boots so before leaving a really good review I would need more Time, anyway they seem like really good Boots and will be putting them through allot of Hiking and see how they hold up.

Fit my feet well; wide toe box and a somewhat skinny heel. No trail or water proof testing as of yet but they are softening up and getting more comfortable each day. Like my other Garmonts, I ordered a full size up.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great except for a foot knuckle rub

Comfy, supportive, roomy. Main negative is a rub against the top of your foot knuckles from the first set of eyelets I think? it's also a little bit warmer and less breathable than other boots despite it looking like it would ventilate well.
Tread is good for muddy/slippery ground too.

Nicely made boot, had everything I was looking for but the arch support was lower than I like.
Out of a 1-10 scale 1 being no arch support to 10 being very high I'd rate this boot around 6.

I prefer an Asolo I rate at and 8.
