Great boot! Order 1 size larger for sure. I wear tested the Garmont Antelao and the Kayland Globo for couple days and finally decided on the Garmont Antelao for several reasons. The Antelao was comfortable from the get go, very little break in required. I wore them on the trail backpacking 3 days after getting them. We hiked over 15 miles and I was carrying a 40 pound pack. I had no hot spots or blisters. I typically get a WIDE in boots (Asolo) but didn't need a wide in the Garmont Antelao once I got the right size. The heal cushion was better than the Kayland Globo in my opinion. The best feature was the lacing system on the Garmont Antelao, I was able to lock my heel in keeping from getting "toe jam" on the down slopes. Basically, I could get a custom fit for the conditions I was hiking. The Kayland Globo had a lot of toe room but I couldn't get the laces as tight as the Garmont. Overall the Garmont Antelao is a great boot, comfortable and a solid choice for backpacking and hiking.
