Excellent boot for mountain and rough terrain

These are very well made boots and ideal for rough terrain but they are not a general boot. The sole offers good grip and the leather is one piece that is of high quality. All of the seams and lace eyes are finely crafted to give long life. The olive color is deep and rich. The weight is medium. the size does run small and the medium width also is on the narrow side. The boot is a medium high and goes above the ankle several inches. The tongue does not flap which is good for staying in place but getting in and out is not as simple as other designs. This is not a drawback in my opinion. There has been some complaint that there is not a metal lace hook at the bend point but I do not believe that the complaint is warranted. The eye lace is well integrated and should hold up well in the field. If you are looking for a hiking boot that goes above the ankle more than most and if the boot gives a good fit, this is a boot well worth over $200.00 USD.
