Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by TribulationExodus from Babylon, CA on Sunday, November 12, 2017Very impressive good looking shoe. I thought this shoe would be a much heavier. I wear this to the office that is how comfortable they are. As for down hill gravel hiking, and snow, the grip is above average, but could be deeper cuts in the rubber. Inside comfort is exceptional. Fits to size.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Newtoutah from Colorado on Wednesday, September 6, 2017Comfortable right out of the box....once I put in a new insole with better arch support. Immediately took them on a three day backpacking trip with no blisters or hot spots. I did order a half size larger than my street shoe size, otherwise my toes would have been a bit squished and probably hurting on the downhills.

“Hi; I usually buy wide shoes. Do the Garmont Fanes Gore-Tex Hiking Boots run narrow, or wide, or what? Would you suggest buying a half-size larger (i buy size 6 1/2 shoes)? ”
Definitely buy a half size larger. The width seemed normal until I fell into a creek and had to hike 4 miles with wet boots. Now they seem a bit wide.
These are a standard medium width.
