So far so goodVerified Buyer Reviewed by Wally from IL on Thursday, June 7, 2018Just got them last week, tried them on and walked around inside for a while. They are very comfortable and I plan on putting them to the test this weekend. I will update my review after I get some miles on them.
garmont mystic midVerified Buyer Reviewed by chris h from sf bayarea on Wednesday, May 23, 2018the boot fits me pretty well, i was concerned about the sizing, but its true to size. its really lightweight and comfortable, not sure if i need to install a superfeet footbed as the lateral support seems really good. cant wait to take them out on the trails.
i will be using them for short backpacking trips and dayhikes.
Limited support, questionable durabilityReviewed by JB from Michigan on Tuesday, April 3, 2018This model has minimal medial support. The way Garmont is using the GoreTex Surround technology, everything in the middle is replaced with mesh. It makes the boot very floppy and without arch support. The toe guard is quite rigid (perhaps too much so) and the ankle support is adequate, but the mesh in the center weakens the boot to the point where neither matters much.
In addition to these issues with support, the mesh and orange lattice design do not seem very durable. I would be concerned using this pair near rocks or sticks. Lastly, this was my first time trying anything with a Michelin sole and I am not impressed. It is considerably more pliable than Vibram. Perhaps this is a function of the thin tread design. But like the mesh, I have concerns about its durability and support.
For a $119 boot, I expect a lot more.
