A good boot...

I took them for a ten-mile hike first day out and found them to be surprisingly comfortable and accommodating. I have a fairly wide foot and a VERY high instep which can be a problem with many shoes and boots when it comes to comfort especially when exercising for three or four hours. The toe-box is spacious without being sloppy and the arch support is excellent.
The only drawbacks I have found subsequently are these:
1. My feet get quite warm and the boots don't seem to breathe as well as my Oboz or Asolo hikers.
2. The lacing is not very user-friendly. It works well in terms of a secure fit but again, the Oboz and Asolos are much quicker and easier.
3. The quality control is suspect; the second pair I received were defective and there was glue smeared all over the toe area. NOT acceptable!
