Good but have some issues

I bought these because of the stiff sole and while they are, they may be too stiff for a low cut shoe as my foot moves around inside significantly on rocky trails--they may be better as a boot. Also, the laces cut into my foot if you try to cinch them up as the laces don't sit on the leather patch at the top of the tongue but just below it. The laces are too long and have to be double-knotted to stay tied, and even then not always. The lining is already separating from the heel cup, but they seem to breathe OK, and I can't speak to how waterproof they are. The tread is aggressive but not very deep so hopefully they will not wear down too quickly and shorten the life of these shoes. They are comfortable but I would hesitate to wear them for long distances over uneven trails. I got a great deal on them so I can't complain too much, but I was expecting more from these supposedly high-end Garmont shoes.
