Outstanding Shoes

I purchased my first pair of these shoes several years ago. They quickly became my favorite all around shoes. These shoes are well made of great quality materials, with virtually no break-in required. I had no blisters or hot spots when worn right out of the box. I wore these shoes to hike a 14,000 ft. Colorado peak and they performed flawlessly. I also thought the styling of the shoes was outstanding and the shoes transition easily from a casual setting to the trail. When it came time for another pair of lightweight hikers, these shoes did not appear on the STP web site, so I scoured the internet for a replacement pair, including a search of the manufacturer's web site. I was even prepared to paid full retail price for these shoes but could not find a replacement pair anywhere. Luckily, sometime thereafter the shoes again appeared on the STP web site and I quickly bought a pair.

Sad epilogue: After wearing these shoes for years with no problems, I noticed that I began to develop bruising on the tops of my toenails after the shoes were worn for long periods of time. Having previously suffered the pain of losing toenails on a strenuous mountain climb caused by some heavy weight mountain boots, I was not anxious to live through that experience again. So sadly, out of an abundance of caution, I no longer wear these shoes. Since I used both the new and old pair of these shoes for years without incident, I do not blame this anomaly on the shoes and still highly recommend these shoes to others.
