Giesswein Bella Boiled Wool SlippersVerified Buyer Reviewed by indy from Indiana on Wednesday, February 28, 2018Runs very small particularly in the instep. Couldn't even get it on with the removable insole in place. Removed the insole and am quite satisfied. Would recommend ordering a size up to anyone considering this shoe/slipper.
Lovely butVerified Buyer Reviewed by jlsportswagon from Michigan on Sunday, January 28, 2018These slippers are just beautiful, very well made, aesthetically unbeatable, and warm. However, my feet are wide with high insteps and the slippers are too tight in places, even though I got a larger size to account for that. So if you have normal feet, these would be a wonderful purchase. The rest of us must make our choices.
Well madeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dianne from Minnesota on Saturday, January 27, 2018Well made slipper. Think it runs small even though description aside large. Tight in arch hope it stretches.
DisappointedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Grandma from NC on Thursday, January 11, 2018Lovely slippers. Appears to be well made. However, the arch support was way too much so i chose to keep them and replace the footbed with one from another pair of shoes. That worked out well. My second complaint is that the edging material that goes across the top of my foot is scratchy.
nice looking -fit is offVerified Buyer Reviewed by dskblc from connecticut on Sunday, January 7, 2018these appear to run a little small, I normally wear a 36/37 and got the 36(there was no 37 in stock), and the fit is unusual, not too small, but snug and narrow- I don't think sizing up would have helped... I have narrow feet and would agree with previous reviews, they run narrow (great for me!) but the fit is a bit off, while they are snug, they slip in the back when I walk. love the look and materials are top notch and amazing, so, I am hoping that they break in soon,,,,
ExcellentSlipperShoewithArchSupportReviewed by Marie from Florida on Wednesday, December 27, 2017I have dancers’ feet: High wide toes, high metatarsal arches, high arches, high insteps, normal width, but narrow heels. My house has stone floors and hardwood floors, so I need cushioning. But I need stability. Very hard to find slippers or shoes that fit and support and are comfortable, let alone feminine looking. My feet love these! Beautifully made, with feminine details. Excellent arch support!!! Washable. I read the other reviews and studied your size chart. I measured my feet with a tape measure and ordered a 40, and they are perfect. Usually, I wear an 8-9, 38-39.
For the first week or so, I wore for an hour or two a day. They felt like gloves or mittens would feel on my feet. I had not ever worn a boiled wool shoe or this style shoe. Love them! Perfect Southwest Florida “winter” slippershoe.Thank you SierraTradingPost for offering quality close outs at such good prices.
Well made slipperReviewed by SF Bay Area Customer from California on Wednesday, December 20, 2017I really like these, but like others have said, the fit is quite snug. Until they stretch, there's no way I can wear these with socks. I wear 9.5, and 41 the right fit lengthwise, but tight across the top of my foot. I'm going under the assumption that they will stretch.
I'm familiar with Haflinger boiled wool slippers, and there are a few differences between the brands. The Giesswein has a much nicer smooth insole. The Haflinger is a looser fit, but the downside to that is that the way my foot grips the insole, my big toe eventually pops a hole through the top of the shoe. The top wears out long before the sole. I suspect these will last much longer because I don't need to grip the same way.
I like the stitching and rhinestones.
So cozy!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Serenidee from California on Tuesday, December 19, 2017These slippers are cute, high quality and warm. The fit seems to be right on and the arch support is amazing. Great slipper overall. I bought a second pair for my future daughter in law.
Great quality and beautiful designVerified Buyer Reviewed by Liz B. from Seattle area on Monday, December 18, 2017This was my second pair of Giesswein boiled wool slippers. I still have a pair from 20 years ago that look almost new. I got these because I wanted slip-on style. I had to return them because the instep of them was so low that they were hard to put on, but for someone without high arches, I think they would be great. See photo below.
Comfort and colorfulVerified Buyer Reviewed by LD from Michigan on Thursday, December 14, 2017I highly recommend these slippers to anyone that is looking for comfort and support. The insole supports the arches of your feet and stops your legs from getting tired, so much better than any other slipper I have had. I loved them so much I bought my sister a pair for christmas, a great gift.
