This helmet has excellent fit across the lower back (cranium), which is critical to keep a helmet from creeping up over the eyebrows and forehead. If you look at most kids in bike helmets their forehead is not covered, which is very unsafe. It is essential that a helmet cover the forehead. This... Read More

Others have already written about sizing. I was skeptical given what others had written but then I have owned about 8 or more Giro helmets, so was hoping to be right. I wasn't. The helmet does have a size range, which may or may not be accurate. Regardless, my pediatrician's recent measurements fell in where this helmet theoretically should have fit our toddler. But the helmet is a somewhat oval shape and my kid's head is more round and the inelastic sides of the helmet meant I couldn't get it onto his head without some screaming. That's as far as I got. Great deal but I ended up returning it. FYI: I did end up with yet another Giro helmet for him, but got it at my local bike shop (LBS) and was able to try on its sizing. Their youth helmets aren't all sized/shaped the same.

This helmet fit my 2 yr old perfectly. It was easy to get on and off, and she didn't seem to mind wearing it.

I bought this by mistake. I thought it would be a helmet for someone in the range 7-10 years, but it is too small, so I will be returning it. However, the helmet is very cute with nice graphics, easy to adjust, and, according to the instructions, has a built in LED flasher (but I think no battery).

This helmet fit my 20 month old son without any problem. It is self adjusting in the back (elastic) so all you need to adjust is the chin strap. He really enjoys wearing it, even if we're not on a bike ride. Hopefully we'll never need to test it's crash effectiveness, but it looks legitimate and I feel better knowing he's wearing it.

So far, so good, although I can't get my big boy 2 year old to put this on, yet, he's curious. I did a lot of research on this helmet given family history with head injury. I am impressed with the quality and more so with STP for offering such a fabulous price for it. Quick shipping, too!

    Thank you!
