For a youth M, this was very large. My wife could wear it comfortably.

didn't like the lack of size adjustment and no inner liner, few vents. Could buy a better helmet for the same money

Bought the helmet for my 11 year old daughter (a beginner/intermediate)sizing by Giro is not accurate as it is at least one size too large, however does fit ok if worn over a beanie, should fit without a beanie next year and perhaps the following year which may prove economical. Great look that matches her ski outfit (pink logo on white).

We had a medium youth from another company, and as my child was growing out of the small and we had only one medium (for the other child), we got htis one because our son is very military-oriented, and it looks somewhat like a Kevlar helmet without the cover. It is much bigger than the other medium we have. He will have to wear a hat under it for it to fit, which will be a bummer in the spring.

I would only recommend concurrently with recommending a size smaller.
