I have over the years found merino wool socks to be the best overall choice for wearability and comfort. I've had cheap ones. I've had expensive ones. This particular sock surpasses them all. I use them 10 months of the year (in high summer, I switch to a cotton sock). While somewhat more expen...

Verified Buyer Reviewed by JP from Wyoming on Monday, April 16, 2018I've been wearing these for several years, always wait for a great price at STP.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mark from Missouri on Thursday, March 29, 2018Wore for a short hike that turned out to be a bit longer (and wetter) than anticipated. Felt nice and kept that good feel through at least a couple of wash cycles.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by PNDub from Oregon on Wednesday, February 21, 2018Bought these for my son because his older Goodhews were ready to be replaced. He wears them all the time – loves them for hiking and for birks. They've outlasted some other wool blends he has and he just prefers the Goodhews. Was happy to find them at STP and came back for 3 more pairs for my husband. They're both 10.5–11. The L/XL fit great.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mt man from Montana on Thursday, February 1, 2018This is the second time I bought this particular sock. They are comfortable, last for good period of time. If they came in a bigger size I would get them bigger. I wear size 13 boots and the socks JUST fit.

It has a little extra padding in the toe and heel, but not much. Overall, it is still a fairly thick sock, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem.
-
The heel and toe are not reinforced.

I wear the same shoe size but sorry, I can't remember what size I ordered! And yes, I love the socks. I wore them in the snow of Arctic Norway and they kept my feet reasonably warm (I say reasonably warm because the temperature there is exceedingly cold!).
-
If you hover your mouse over or click on the sizes the corresponding numeric size will be displayed in male and female sizes.
-
I wear the same shoe size and I ordered the M/L which are too big. I would try the S/M. Unfortunately I didn't return mine so I don't know how the smaller size fits.
-
I am not familiar enough with women's sock sizing to offer accurate assistance, sorry! STP might have your order history available either online or by calling them.
-
hard to say exactly. I wear a men's 8.5 shoe size and ordered the M/L sock size....so maybe you need to order the S/M size in the sock?

Merino wool. These are excellent socks.
-
Merino wool
-
The product description mentions merino wool, but they are entirely unlike any merino socks I have ever owned. They are made in China, which might have something to do with it. The predominant fiber is something far too elastic for socks, resulting in a poor fit that gets looser over time. I sent all of mine back.
-
Merino Wool and a stretch material. I have several pairs and love them.
-
I purchased 4 pair after wearing I bought 6 more pairs
-
68% merino wool, 30% nylon, 2% spandex. My son loves them. Warm, not itchy (although I must admit, I was wary of the combo at first because I am a 100% cotton lover).

A smaller size will be far too small for your foot. It will be a much better fit for you to get the 8-11 socks.
-
I wear a 9-1/2 and got the larger size. The socks are a bit big for me. I'd get the smaller size if I were you.
-
Hey these socks are really stretchy, I am a size 11 and they fit great, my wife wears my socks and she is only like a size 6, they just seem to fit any foot size well.
-
I bought large and wear size 11. They were plenty big on me. For your size I would choose the smaller.
-
Get the kind with light cushion
-
I think they'll be too big for you, I would go for the next smaller sock.

-
If you dry them on high heat they will shrink slightly but will stretch back out. I recommend low heat.
-
Not after one washing, at least. I would recommend these socks. They are well worth the money. Perhaps the best pair of merino socks I own. (and no, they're not the only pair I own)
-
not if you let them air dry after washing according to instructions. air drying takes overnight in a heated house.
-
When I wash I turn inside out and then I dry as per normal. I don't find that they shrink.
-
No shrinkage after 3 washing in hot to warm water and full heat drying
-
I just bought these socks, but they did not shrink after the first washing. I was careful to follow the simple washing instructions.
-
Ive used them frequently for a couple months and havent had any shrinkage.
-
Neither my wife or I have experienced any shrinkage in the S/M or M/L sizes, however, we wash them with other clothes and hang dry them.
-
no!
-
They don't when dried on low temperature.
-
great socks. go everywhere. good for chilblaines. not tested below 6 degrees celcius.
