Verified Buyer Reviewed by Chet from Denver, CO on Saturday, December 17, 2016I have a Goretex lined lined hat too, both hats are XL. This hat is much larger that the Dortex hat. You can see the size difference by turning them over side by side. Buy a smaller size. I’m keeping the hat as I rely like the colors and fabric. I’m having a sizing ring installed to snug up the fit.
Reviewed by Brewed in MN from Minnesota on Saturday, October 8, 2016I wasn't sure that this hat would be worth $30 but with the wool blend, my boyfriend wanted to try it. He has an XL (size 8) melon and we ordered both the blue/black and grey/black in the XL. With the flaps up/tucked inside the hat, one was too large (didn't fit tight enough at the band) and the other fit OK; with the flaps down, my boyfriend said he had never had hats that fit his head so well & felt great. However, he was curious to try a size L, so we have one in each color on the way. As his Dad likes this type of hat, also, we are getting him one for Christmas. As to color, the grey/black will go with just about any jacket but I prefer the look of the blue/black - both look very nice. This hat is a dressed up version of an old favorite.
