I am >50 and wanted some nice casual pants in lieu of jeans and these are perfect. I was concerned that they are pull on and mistakenly thought I needed the size Large to compensate for the lack of a zipper but found that I was mistaken. I am a size 12/14 (pear shape)and found the size Medium was a... Read More

I LOVE Gramicci shorts and pants! I wish I would've found these sooner so I could've bought my size in every color. I am 5'9" and long-legged. Wanted to get the 35" inseam, but those weren't available, so I got the 33 in. Could use a little more length, but I think they'll work just fine. These are great, easy outdoor pants. Love them for hiking and working in the yard.

Seems like Gramicci has stopped making these Original G Pants. I was so grateful to find these at Sierra Trading Post. These are classic active pants from the 1980s, with gusseted crotch, roomy fit, high rise waist, deep pockets and tough but soft cotton twill. Straight leg style makes it easy to roll up for instant transformation into capris. They are my go-to hiking pants and have been my all around pants for decades. I live in them. Still have some older ones that are wearing out, but these may be the last new ones I buy. If others are interested, maybe we can start a petition to Gramicci to bring 'em back.

I bought 2 pairs ten years ago and they lasted and lasted and wore great and looked great for years. Now I bought 4 more.

Finally...some Gramicci pants that fit me.
I just received my order of 4 pairs. I was very nervous about whether or not they were going to fit. In the past, I've tried the Vintage G, the Orphia pants, the Climber G, and the Tokyo Skinny. None of those fit my large rump and short waist. I've had to return, return, return...
I was nearly ready to give up hope that Gramicci pants would ever work for my shape & size. One last chance...and I ordered the Originals. They fit! They fit wonderfully! I'm 5'2", 187 lbs today, and usually rock a size 14 in women's. I ordered these pants in a Large, and they're not too tight nor too loose. They don't show my undies when I bend over-- I adore the rump coverage. The legs have plenty of give and allow for flexible movement. I live a very active lifestyle, and bike or walk as transportation. I do have to hem the 31" inseam, but I expected that. I have a sewing machine. I ordered these colors: Nightshadow Blue (2), Grape Nectar, and Olive. The bright hues are very pretty.
    I couldn't be happier!

It's too bad you can only get these in close out sales. Don't know why they had to go and change a good thing. All the new versions have spandex in them. I'm not a spandex fan. It's not a "green" product, nothing natural about it (it's basically rubber), and I'm allergic to it. Give me good old cotton!
I've loved these pants for years.....they are durable, comfortable, breath, and are well made. Sizes tend to run large.

    • Definitely tapered all the way down from a generous hip--originally for climbing, so roomy in the knee with nothing too easily caught at the ankle (does not taper to knee, then fall straight). Hangs more like the leg on the left in the pic, not the right. The leg opening accommodates a boot, although the length is not intended for a heel. Not currently fashionable. (Love 'em.)

    • They are not tapered at all, I would have preferred that. The belt is also too short for my taste - I have it extended all the way out.

    • Not a real straight leg and a little baggy in the seat. Comfortable though for traveling.

    • The color is a light stone/beige colour. I actually wash them with whites and bleach, that is how light coloured they are. Not see through, just lighter beige/stone coloured.

    • I received two different grey colors when I recently ordered "Pebble Grey". One was a warm medium grey; it leans a tiny bit toward green. I returned the other pair, but if I'm remembering correctly, it was a cooler medium gray, leaning a bit toward blue; what I consider a true gray color. I remember liking the cooler grey better, but landed keeping the warm grey pair due to size issues. I really do like the color, but I don't wear anything grey with them. I have not ordered "Shale". I also ordered two "French Khaki" and received two different colors. I've been wearing Gramicci for decades and don't get too hung up on the colors if I can get something to fit well.

    • Pebble grey is actually more of a very faded khaki green. It doesn't look grey at all. But the faded green is a nice color too and so it wasn't a problem. I've just ordered a pair in "shale" and am also wondering about what color I'll actually get.
Answered on 6/29/2015 6:19:19 AM by JC from Tennessee
    • I went ahead and ordered both the Pebble Grey and Shale. They are basically the same color -- both are a grey with slightly different tints. The only real difference is the Grey has a black ribbon and the Shale has a pink-ish ribbon. I also ordered "Fresh Ink". The color is a nice, bright blue, but not as vibrant as it appears online.

    • I believe ebony color is an extremely dark, dark brown color bordering on black. Black is all black and the ebony is more like black w/ a hint of dark brown. Hope that helps. This color would be beautiful with any rust colored or vanilla/cream colored tops I think!

    • In general the rise does not change.
Answered on 3/23/2015 10:13:38 AM by Product Specialist Greg from Company Headquarters
    • I tried XS in the 29", 31" and 33" inseams, and they all have a similar rise. But there is some variation even within a given inseam. The gusset width seems to be what varies the most, but by no more than 1/2". The slightly wider gussets made the difference for me. The rise on the SM is about 1" longer than the rise of the XS, although the gusset width was about the same. After trying ten XS in varying inseams and ten SM all in 31" inseam, I found two XS and and 4 SM that fit comfortably.
