For comparison I am comfortable with size 4 in Mountain Hardware and Columbia. The small in this pant was about 2 inches too big in the waist and came up very high on me. I am 5'4. The pair I ordered may have been mis-sized by the distributers. The overall design is just what I was seeking. I Loved the fabric and stretchy feel, these would be an excellent climbing pant or hiking pant if you can find correct size.

They are a bit long, but if you don't want to hem them (which I finally did quickly on my sewing machine), they will stay up if folded up. Size wise, I think they are true to size or a tiny bit big. I am 5'4", about 155 lbs, hike at least 3 miles every day & usually wear a large/14 in jeans and pants (sometimes a 12 but those are things that tend to run big). The large fits perfectly with plenty of room to squat & bend & sit which is needed because there is no stretch to this fabric.

The sizing feels a tad small, but it might be the fabric which doesn't "give" or breathe as well as cotton.

The Gramicci iconic pants I have a phone for nearly 20 years now were made in India. The cotton was rugged quality To withstand heavy duty work in the yard. These pants are made in China. The first day I sat on the ground to do some work and later in the day I discovered that the metal button on the left pocket rear was gone. Oh well, at least they fit and are comfortable. Good price and well worth the investment, even though they are not to withstand heavy duty work in the yard. These pants are made in China. This style just didn't look good on me though the pants itself was very well made. The material was a bit on the heavier side and definitely would add warmth if that is what you were looking for.
