Gramicci Vintage G Dourada Pants - Cotton (For Women)

This is my 8th pair of Gramicci "G" style pants. I literally wore out my first two pairs, the lighter weight twill versions purchased 14 years ago, from wearing them almost every day in my job as a construction manager. The design, with the diamond shaped crotch insert, makes them perfect for climbing ladders and crouching without binding. I replaced those first pairs and am pleased to report the heavier fabrics that Gramicci has moved to are much more durable -- my oldest pair now is 10 years old with no sign of wearing out. I hope they never stop making this style, especially the "vintage" with the narrower lower legs. I don't care for the wider, floppy styles. This style fits nicely over the top of hiking or work boots without flapping and getting caught on things. They are great hiking pants, too, and very comfortable for travel, especially if you are going to be on a plane for a long time, or sitting at a desk. I am wearing this newest pair as I type this review. They sit at the natural waist (so many pants anymore are hip huggers, which are not so great for sitting for long periods.) I am average height, with a long rise, and it is great to have pants that don't give me a wedgie all day or bind around the waist. The pockets are deep and sturdy, also a rarity these days. They are the only drawstring type pants I've ever had that don't look like pajama bottoms. They wash like a charm and never need ironing if you take them out of the dryer quickly. Size wise, I am a 12 on a good day and a 14 on a bad day, and the Large fits me comfortably. I also have one pair of Mediums which are snug but still comfortable (probably a little more flattering). Not trendy or fashionable, but the most practical and durable pants I have ever owned. Any woman who is an active outdoorsperson or works in the building trades will appreciate these pants.
