I have lived in New England most of my life, so I enjoy winter seasons. I have Raynauds disease which is a circulatory problem particularly in hands and feet. They get cold easily and stay cold. These mittens are the best I have found, ever! My hands DO NOT get cold at all when I go skiing! YEAH for... Read More

My wife's hands are always cold, especially the fingertips. These mittens kept her toasty, without making it tough to buckle boots or hold poles.

Love these mittens. Was given a pair several years ago and they are the warmest I have found, and hold up over time.

Like a previous reviewer, I also have Raynaud's. It's a medical condition where I have difficulty keeping my hands warm. So mittens and gloves are a priority for me! These are the best mittens I have ever owned. They kept my hands warmer than any other glove or mitten I have tried. So happy I found these! Also, the leather lining is able to grip the steering wheel/snow shovel, which is great. Highly recommend!

I was really looking forward to these mittens that sounded so warm in the description offered by the manufacturer. However, I tried them out for the first time on a warm spring day and was profoundly disappointed at their performance. My fingers were bitterly cold after the first run and it was not even cold outside (45 degrees) and slush at the base of the mountain. I gave them two stars because of the reasonable price offered through Sierra Trading Post.

I've recently been having issues with freezing hands and feet while taking my daily walk. I was wearing two pairs of mittens at the time. I decided to purchase ski mittens thinking they would do the trick. I'm most pleased with the Grandoe Two Pounder Mittens. They nothing but warm and don't feel heavy on my hands.

  • “What is the inside lining like? I would like a mitten that does not have a glove-like interior that separates the fingers. I would also really like a soft lining.”

    • Standard mitten inside, soft too

  • “I just want to verify the size I should buy. Across the knuckles I am 7 1/4" and the other hand measures 7 1/2". Does this mean I should order at L (the other gloves I wear are all smalls or extra-smalls)?”
Asked by Anonymous from San Diego, CA on 1/27/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • You will want to go with the inches listed with the size of glove.

  • “Wondering if the "two-pounder" in the name refers to them being heavy ... I'm intrigued by the extra warmth at the fingertips, since my Raynauds is a KILLER in the winter!”
Asked by lin-lin from clifton park, NY on 12/9/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • No, this is only a model name.

    • definitely not 2 pounds. It's like they were trying to make up for something as they felt cheap and like they wouldn't keep you warm under 40 degrees F..

  • “How do we determine what size we should take?”
Asked by AB from PA on 12/3/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • To measure your hand size correctly, measure the widest part of your hand (excluding your thumb), generally around the knuckles. The sizes are listed in inches.
