No Visual Instruction Manual?

I am new to the whole dog booties thing. I love the way they look, but have been having a really difficult time keeping the booties on my dog's feet. They slip off too easily, and it is really difficult to get his paw inside the boot. I measured his feet, so it is not that his paws do not fit, it is just hard to figure out how dog booties work when there is no instruction manual. My dog chews his paws a lot, particularly the front ones because he is an older male and he tinkles on his front paws from time to time, causing irritation. His paws are super tender from the unneeded moisture, so it makes it hard for him to go for walks. I figured the boot could stop that while also preventing him from getting anymore goat heads stuck in his paws from outside.
