This pack is well constructed, but the strapping system makes it nearly impossible to get on the dog. My dog is very patient and didn't squirm but even he got tired of me trying to fit the straps through the multiple cross straps. I realized that doing this each time it was removed and put on during a hike would require a great deal of time. To bad, loved the construction and fit once it was on.

Easily adjustable, snug fit keeps pack from sliding around on the dogs back. Wide nylon straps do not chafe the dogs belly and chest area like the narrow ones do. The pack is water resistant, and the pack bags are removable. The zippers are seam sealed to help keep water out. It has two interior pockets for smaller stuff. There is a leash clip on the pack that should have been placed on the forward part of the pack instead of the back end. It still works well. My border collie does not fight the pack, nor does he seem to mind it at all. He carries his food, snacks, and bedding. The size is spot on. Measure the dogs chest circumference to establish the appropriate size. Mine was right on the top end of XS size. I went with the smaller size to help prevent overloading the dog, and to optimize the fit. I have used the pack on 4 long day trips so far with no issues for the dog or me. I am looking forward to a multi-day trip with him now that he can carry his own food and bedding!!

This pack is really nice. The straps are smooth, it fits securely and rides well. Using the handle to pick my dog up doesn't bother her at all which is a nice option to have if you're doing any scrambling or crossing creeks . I would love to have one of these with a mesh back for really hot summer days. The only other thing that could be better is the leash ring. It is located at the back of the handle. It would be nice if it was at the front and made of metal instead of plastic but your dog can still wear a collar with this pack so it's really not a problem.

Well made, good construction, decent color with visibility.
Fits as expected, seems capable of lasting a lifetime. Has inner pocket, which is helpful. Padded straps so it doesn't rub the dog raw. Doesn't slide around. Handle seems substantial. Good price. Haven't washed it yet, but don't think it will be a problem
