5.0 out of 5 stars. Backpacking

I recently purchased 2 of the Gregory Amber 60 Backpacks. I have 2 teenage daughters, and this was their first internal frame backpack. We just did a 4 day backpack trip, and the packs were great. They are 5'5" and 5'7" , petite frames and the medium frame fit them both very well, had plenty of adjustment straps to custom fit. They both said they were comfortable to carry, and the packs have a good amount of padding. We did 38 miles. The packs have a lot of space, and several pockets/compartments. The main compartment is a U shaped zipper entry which was nice to be able to access everything easily. There is a removable day pack/water reservoir, which was great for daily excursions. I am so happy with this purchase! Highly recommend this backpack.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Gregory Amber 60 Bacpack

Love this pack. Love bladder holder that works as very light weight backpack. Used it on my first trip. Comfortable belt and straps. Would award 5 stars except that I wish side pockets were long enough to hold water bottles. Love pockets on belt.

I am 5'1" and my torsos is 16.5 and I chose size S. Like another reviewer stated, the top part kind of block me to allow my head bend backward. The backpack has several good sizes pockets and good to organize your stuff. Since the price is good and I keep it and didn't return.

I tried on at least 10 packs and the Gregory Amber fit me like a glove. I'm 5'4", 160 lbs, and had no blisters at the end of a 2-day, 20 mile hike on the PCT, loaded down with 30+ lbs of gear. It also has more bells and whistles than other bags, even Osprey. Loved it and would highly recommend!

About Gregory

After designing his first backpack as a Boy Scout at the age of 14, Wayne Gregory dedicated his career to making outstanding gear, a mission that eventually led him to create Gregory Mountain Products in 1977. From the beginning, Gregory backpacks have been engineered using a combination of field research and customer feedback in order to enhance durability, fit and function. The brand has pioneered many industry firsts, such as multiple pack sizes with different frame, harness and waist belt dimensions. They also developed the first waist belt system that offered a variety of hip angles. Not surprisingly, Gregory backpacks have been praised in a wide range of publications, from Backpacker magazine to National Geographic Adventure.
