Pros: comfy padded straps, multiple compartments, slim design, water resistant, covered zippers
Cons: covered zippers can be difficult to open/close, but the cover does serve its purpose.

I was really looking forward to this bag, especially as Gregory has such a good reputation.
First off is a really really small bag - I was looking for one on the smaller size, but the construction of this bag makes it just about unusable for a variety of day to day uses. The main compartment is very very slender and doesn't expand well - bulky items will be a touch fit. I tried putting my laptop, power cord, and a couple of cables in and it was a squeeze. It's made for slim items only in my opinion.
Another issue I noticed right away was the material overlap that covers/protects the zippers. It's's about an inch of material that covers the zippers of both main compartments. In theory this is great to keep water out, but it makes opening the pack smoothly just about impossible. It's a struggle just to unzip the thing.
Lastly, the top handle is useless. It's a tiny tiny tiny piece of material that fits a finger - not anything useful to actually pick the bag up by.

I highly recommend not wasting your money on this pack - I don't know what Gregory was thinking designing such a useless item.

About Gregory

After designing his first backpack as a Boy Scout at the age of 14, Wayne Gregory dedicated his career to making outstanding gear, a mission that eventually led him to create Gregory Mountain Products in 1977. From the beginning, Gregory backpacks have been engineered using a combination of field research and customer feedback in order to enhance durability, fit and function. The brand has pioneered many industry firsts, such as multiple pack sizes with different frame, harness and waist belt dimensions. They also developed the first waist belt system that offered a variety of hip angles. Not surprisingly, Gregory backpacks have been praised in a wide range of publications, from Backpacker magazine to National Geographic Adventure.
