So, I only gave 4 stars because, although I have fished in the jacket a couple of times now, it wasn't raining that hard any of those time. It was cold and misty but not really raining. I'm sure it will work well in a downpour but so far I haven't had to test that. Here is what I do know. The jacket is really stiff initially but softens up over time, the hood fits well and isn't so big that it impedes vision. The velcro flap in your sleeve does keep water from running down your arm after your hands get wet and you start casting again. That alone almost makes this jacket worth the price. The built in retractors are a good idea and I might use them at some point but most of my stuff is already set up on my pack the way I like it and so I doubt they will see much use. They also aren't really that long so not sure if they'll stretch over time. I'm 6'2 215 and got the double xl cause that was what they had. For me the jacket isn't too large and will allow for adequate layering underneath if warranted. Plus with it being a double XL it doesn't seem as short and I would be able to wear it for other things if the weather was nasty. Very pleased with the jacket and would recommend it to anyone.
