I sized up as recommended to fit a thin down jacket under it. It's not a super technical mountaineering jacket, but I think those are a bit overkill for city rain gear. The hood is great. It's warm enough on its own in upper 50s low 60s temps. Waterproof enough for Northern California rain. It's a brighter purple than in the photograph, which is fine by me. Great price with the current discount.

This is an incredible jacket. I hiked in the rain for a week and was always dry. It is lightweight and quiet when you move. This is the only hood I've ever had that actually works well. It adjusts easily and the visor provides protection but allows you to see the sights. My only difficulty with the coat is a front zipper that sticks often when starting. I would recommend it.

This jacket is soft, lightweight, stylish and fully protective from wind and rain. It does run a bit small; I usually wear a small in American sizes, but after reading the other reviews for Haglofs products, I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly. I know I'll keep this one for a long time.

Great jacket - I am a 38DD and the XL was too tight in the chest. Mountain hardware has a more generous fit in the same size.
