Great boots. Be wary of sizing.

Wow, these are really nice boots. The quality (they're handmade in Germany) really shows through. Unfortunately, I found the sizing challenging. I normally wear a 10.5, which STP says equates to a 9.5 UK in these boots. Most websites out there (check 'em!) say a 10.5 US equals a 10 UK. I mentioned that to the customer service rep who said to order the 9.5. Well, the boots were tight--about a half-size too small. Go figure. I would have exchanged them for a larger size, but I ended up keeping the Asolo Neutrons I also ordered as I felt they had the superior ankle support. Still, if you order the right size, I think you'll be happy with the Hanwags. And you can annoy your hiking companions by pronouncing them correctly in German, "Han-Vag."
