Winter and Hiking Boot

Well crafted boot that really shows what worksmanship is about. If you're used to the cheap made in China stuff this will really be different for you, in a very positive way.

It's gore-tex so actually is pretty warm even in colder environments. We've had below 20 degree weather here for awhile and heavy snow, and I've worn these to get around. Your feet seem to stay dry and warm.

There are no insoles, but you can remedy that with the Dr. Scholl's gel inserts at your local drugstore, or anything else you'd want. When you're hiking in muddy streams you might not need them, but since I use them for many things I put the inserts in and it's been great.

I would suggest ordering one size up from your US size. I ordered a half size up and it's still a little tight, after several hours of wear I can definitely feel it pinching in on my toes. I don't think it's so bad that it will cause problems, but definitely it could be more comfortable. I think these are handmade so one boot could be smaller than the other, I think that is the case with me.

You can tell from the picture but it has a speed lacing system, and also a deep rivet for the ankle. I use these for pretty much everything now. The only thing I wouldn't use them for is running. You'll have to clean them off after hikes but otherwise you can wear them to work or most casual events, especially in black.
