Great rod, casts beautifully and effortlessly, great for roll casts too, the tip is not too rigid so it protects thin tippets, I am planning to buy another Hardy from the same series in the near future.
I own top of the line Sage and Scott rods but this is my favorite rod now.

I took this rod backpacking to a small lake. It was easy to put together. Although rated as a 4 wt, I used 3 weight reel & line. I caught two monster rainbows and had a lot of fun reeling them in. The rod is light & packable. Good purchase.

About Hardy

The story behind Hardy fishing rods and reels began in the early 1870s, when William Hardy and his brother started a gunsmithing business in Alnwick, Northumberland. Although they made a good living in northern England producing high-quality firearms, it wasn’t long before the brothers’ passion for fishing precipitated a change of direction for the company, and Hardy rods and reels were the result. Hardy was the first tackle company to build and market hexagonal bamboo rods and also introduced the first large-arbor reels in 1911. Hardy fishing gear, rods, reels and bags are simply some of the best.
