I just wore these on a three day camping trip with some hiking two of those days. These were a pleasant surprise.
Size-wise, these fit close to the oxfords I wear for work 40 hours a week in a Euro 43. These seem to be a solid Euro 43, which is not necessarily a US 10, though. I initially bought a size 44 thinking I'd need more room as I often wear a half size to full size up in other brands, however just walking around my apartment to try then on I began to concede that the heels were slipping more than could be easily remedied. It was easy to return them to STP after trying on for one size smaller.

I replaced the original insole with the ones from my work shoes for the trip, however I found the original, not-so-substantial-or-impressive-appearing insole to work just fine with a different pair of socks for a 2-point-something-mile hike this afternoon. No blisters, no hot spots, no complaints. I like the fit so far after putting some days and miles on them.

The styling is...different...reminds me of old bowling shoes, but that's why I found them appealing in the forest green color. It's not the typical Merrell, Keen, etc. style-brand-image. I did treat them with suede protector and water seems to run off the uppers for now and make them easier to clean after hitting the trail. I reversed the laces so that they exited outward, away from the shoe from the top eyelet which made them easier to fit. I like them and I would buy them again.
