Crazy kids Sizing help for warm gloves

As most of you know when shopping online for warm children's gloves; the sizing is not uniform and can be very confusing. Hestra has made it easier with there simple "by the inch" size chart, but with small children it's still confusing. These gloves fit my grandson - he turned 5 in December 2015- he wears a 6 in clothes and is tall for his age. These fit "like a glove"!! The fingers were about 1/2 inch too long but otherwise fit perfect- important to get gloves a bit roomy Tight clothes impede warmth.
Be very careful to research materials when buying children's winter wear. Product makers skimp on kids stuff to keep price low, but 8 hours on snowmobiles requires real quality of material as children loose heat quicker than adults and therefore should have higher quality and superior warmth in comparison to adult clothing. I purchased Gordini gauntlet gloves for him also- size small- too big- size xs would have been comparable in size to these hestra 3-4. Gordini appear to have better insulation and also have the zippered warmer pocket to slip in hand warmer. With thick liner glove we will use the Gordini for long rides. I purchased the auclair zippy grippy last year for him and they fit 3-5 year olds- easy to get on with wool liner glove and quality was excellent - very warm- long ride days his hands were still very protected- highly recommended. Hopes this helps those searching for kids gloves.
