I was looking for a light-weight, versatile shoe that could go from walking the city to hiking to--in-a-pinch--out to dinner. This pretty much fits the bill. The traction is substantial. As a slip-on, it doesn't scream "hiking boot." With its low heel and not-too-bulky toe box, I'm hoping I may even... Read More

I usually buy a different brand that looks just like this pair, but with the lower price I thought I'd give these a try and am very impressed. I have wide, hard to fit feet and these shoes feel nice on and good to walk in.

These are great shoes! Good every day shoes. They are supportive, comfortable, and look great. The fit is true to size. They are well made and last years. I will definitely buy them again and highly recommend them.

I bought two pairs and ordered a third. I bought them for the winter when I have to be careful walking on ice. They seem to have a good grip on the bottom. Very comfortable for driving too. One pair was a little too high on the front of my foot but after wearing for a day became more comfortable so I ordered another pair. The second pair, well, the jury is still out. Might need a little more stretching. A shoe horn is a necessity. Nice price too.

I should have read the other reviews more closely because these shoes are very narrow. I could have made them work with thin socks but not with the thick socks that I wear in the colder months. These look very similar to the merrell's that I used to have (and wore out) but they not as comfortable. The sole and arch support are great but just not for me.

Need a shoe horn to get my foot in first few times.
Now it's not necessary even with medium weight
    socks. Fit was true size.

    • It seemed to be normal. The shoe itself, however, runs small.

    • I would say the toe box is generous (comfortably wide) but not too big. I ordered a size 9 and have plenty of room without sliding around. I have worn with thin, medium, and heavy socks and the shoe accommodates them all. I wear a 9 in some shoes and 8.5 in others. My heel does not slip in these either. I can't wear many loafers because of heel slippage. I did not also order the 8.5 size so I can't be certain how those would have worked.

    • I ordered my regular size and they just overall felt to tight and I would have ordered up at least a half a size but there were no more so I had to return. They are really nice and well made shoes. I wish they would have fit me better.

    • I would say it’s normal. About the same as Merrel Jungle Mocs.

About Hi-Tec

After retiring from the Dutch Air Force and moving to England in the mid-1970s, the enterprising Frank Van Wezel decided to create the world’s first pair of Hi-Tec shoes designed specifically for playing squash. The idea was a hit, and it wasn’t long before Frank’s company had grown to include a full selection of Hi-Tec boots, shoes and sandals. Today, after nearly four decades of footwear innovation, Hi-Tec hiking boots, tennis shoes and sneakers deliver the best mix of support, comfort and style for people who live for adventure.
