The waterproof Dri-Tec membrane keeps splashing creeks and morning dew from soaking through to your socks, which can make for an all-around miserable day of hiking! A shock-absorbing EVA insole and midsole provide excellent cushioning throughout the journey, and the lugged MDT rubber outsole helps prevent slips on all terrain.

These boots are stated to be waterproof but with a breathable membrane. After wearing them once my socks were soaking wet from sweat. I wrote Hi-Tec to complain but after three weeks I haven't heard from them .

I ordered the same size I wear in all my other shoes and my toes hit the end. They were also a little wide for me, as I have a narrow foot. Had to return them. I put them on right out of the box and they felt as broken in as could be. Looks of the shoe a conservative color scheme that is not like the gaudy neon colors that one sees. Too bad these are closeouts.

No break-in needed, they fit true-to-size & they're fairly light in weight. The only drawback is that the arch support is not great. He likes them so well that I got another pair for him to wear when walking the dog in the park.
