Great deal, 1/2 size smaller than indicated, but waterproof!

I spent a good portion of my life hiking and backpacking up north and have been an STP customer for about 20 years. I've had good and bad boots. Hi-Tec was one of the first boots I bought for backpacking. They were great for short trips (3 days, non-technical). I haven't hiked in 10 years due to living in the tropics. I have a road trip coming up with where we'll do a lot of hiking here and there over 11 days in the Rockies. After tons of research and some great deals I decided on the Skamania boots. I needed something waterproof and breathable with good support for rugged hikes. They fit my needs and my past experience with the brand was good (but a looong time ago). I returned the first pair but they were just a tad too small (men's 11) Toes hit the front on declines. Exchanged for 1/2 size larger and now they fit well for inclines and declines (no slipping, no toe jamming). Best of all, they ARE waterproof!! I stepped into my pool, up to the tab on the back and not a single bit of moisture got inside!! Stood there for about 5 minutes to be sure then took them off and felt around the inside. Dry as a bone! I dont' have any miles on them yet but I'm confident they'll be great and will post an update in 2 months after my trip. As for STP, they sent the original pair in 2 weeks but when I exchanged them the new ones arrived in 8 days!! I did contact their Live Chat help to make sure I understood the $2.95 return shipping deal and that I would get the new boots for the same discounted price and they confirmed (you get a credit and have to order a new pair). Total time to get that answer from start to finish was about 4 minutes. Same original deal and boots that bit better! Again, I'll update this post after my trip. We'll see how these boots really hold up in the mountains!
