Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent - with one small caveat
Verified Buyer Reviewed by mgrif from WI on Thursday, July 10, 2014
The material quality and general finish (inner, outer and construction) of the jacket are excellent - typical Hickey Freeman - and much better than the vast majority of suits out there. My only caveat is that I would prefer it came with brass buttons which give a little dressier presentation. That said, it's an excellent jacket and the buttons easily replaceable if motivated.

Re fit. Over the years (and I have HIckey Freeman suits from 20+ years ago - which while not current in style (i.e. hard shoulders, etc.) - have aged very well. In my experience, their well made suit/sport coats look fresh and crisp for a lot longer than most, This jacket is typical of current Hickey Freeman tailoring with medium softened shoulders, medium lapels and an average chest to waist drop. Fairly typical for American suits. They are not particularly full, nor do they follow the compact fit trend. It's a very comfortable and professional fit. For reference, I have some other nice Italian suits which are also beautifully made but more compact fitting. I'm middle aged, 6'1 and 175 lbs and fit a Hickey in a 40R nearly off the rack. The sleeves and jacket length are very close. Sometimes I wish the chest and/or waist of their jackets were slightly more tailored, but most would probably prefer the fit of HF off the rack in this regard. Hope this helps.

nice material but cut very small. I wear a 42 and this size 42 could not be buttoned. Had to return it
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Glad I didn't miss this one

Great jacket. I normally where a 42R, which is what I ordered. It fit perfectly out of the box. As for overall size in the Navy, I'm 180, 5'9", with a 34W. Arms, 33" length in shirts sleeves. Im also carrying a little extra around the middle, like most lovers of craft beer, but the jacket is right on in size. No alterations necessary, a little trimmer than other Blazers, but not a 'skinny' jacket. Love it. Wish I had jumped on it sooner.

This is probably one of the nicest blazers one can get. In Chicago you would easily pay $800 plus.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Classic navy blazer for a great price!

This blazer is a great value. It is a slightly slimmer cut than I am used to wearing, but it is not one of those ultra slim products that people are wearing today. The buttons are an antique bronze, and strike the right balance because they are not too flashy. Nice product and price, Sierra!
