A nice little pack for day trips on my bike. I was hoping for more padding in the back panel and shoulder straps. There is virtually no padding on the straps and very little on the back panel but it's comfortable regardless. I suppose I wanted more shoulder strap padding for those times when I have to shoulder the bike. With that being said this is a nice light little pack with or without the hydration bladder. I have yet to use the bladder but it's comparable to other models and should do well. Note that the bladder has a slide locking mechanism rather than a screwable cap.

Without the bladder I was able to hold an extra shirt, a u-lock, cable lock, keys, wallet, large smart phone, and other miscellany with room to spare. Perfect for a long ride through Chicago. Plus the adjustable outer pouch was perfect for my helmet and I imagine a light jacket or something similarly bulky would be fine too.

Other than the lack of stap padding the only other concern was that there is no way to cinch up the extra strap length on the sternum strap. No biggie but that would have been a nice touch.

All in all worth the price from STP however spend more if you want something with ample shoulder padding and back panel vents. Deuter makes a great bag if you want to shell out close to a hundred dollars. I didn't and this High Sierra bag will work just fine.

I was looking for a hydration pack that was lightweight, but could still carry some goodies. I am able to fit my cell, wallet, keys, cliff bar, bag of trail mix, pear, book, and audiobook with some strategic packing.

This is my first hydro pack, so I can't compare it to others but the slide out water reservoir is handy. However, I've used it a few times now and still has a plastic taste. It also makes my back a bit sweaty even though it says it is designed to allow air flow.

Overall, I'm happy with it. Holds enough water and goodies for a day trip without being bulky and heavy. And while it is still new it seems to be made well and should last a while.

I have only used it for short hikes to try it out before my big summer trip "out west". It is light weight and stable for me. I put only essentials in the back pack to keep it as light as possible. I bought one for my 13 yr old grandaughter as well. She loves it!
