defective designReviewed by anonymous from Idaho on Wednesday, September 13, 2017The insole does not fit the shoe properly. It is too large and not shaped correctly and does not taper at the edges, creating a ridge in the arch area that will blister your foot. They seemed fine for a few shorter runs - took them out for a longer run at after 6 miles it felt like my instep was being pinched between the insole and the shoe. Googled around and found this is a problem with the Clayton - people try to fix it by trimming the insoles. The whole line has the issue. Don't buy - you'll regret these.

Easy RunVerified Buyer Reviewed by Fondue Mom from Stowe, VT on Thursday, July 27, 2017I've been wanting to try Hoka's for a long time, but their high price always stopped me. Leave it to STP to carry Hoka's at an incredibly reduced price. It ends up everything I've read about Hoka's is true. . . lightweight, cushiony run. I love running in these!

On the fenceVerified Buyer Reviewed by PDXvegan from Oregon on Tuesday, July 11, 2017I got these as I am about to run down a mountain for an August relay, and all anyone could recommend were Hokas. "Hokas are great for running downhill! They are so cushioned that will make you significantly less sore!" Both my friends and the running store guys said it, so I got these because they were a decent price.
But I've been training in them, and... hmmm. They are very lightweight, and cushioned, but they seem to tire out my feet much faster than my Mizunos. I've been trying to downhill train as that's supposed to be where they shine, but I confess I'm not noticing some enormous change in my sore-ness level afterwards. And the laces flap around distractingly, so I have to tuck them in.
I'm going to keep giving them a chance and maybe I'll wear them for race day, but I still prefer my regular shoes - which I bought in a running store, with advice from people who actually looked at my stride and basically "prescribed" me the brand I usually wear and love for running.

Amazing brand, comfortable but may run bigReviewed by Momof3ontherun from Illinois on Friday, July 7, 2017I recently discovered the Hoka One One brand and own another pair in the Clifton style that I bought in my usual 9.5 (half size bigger than usual shoes) and those have been working out fine. I also bought the Clayton in 9.5 and they are BIG. I've been trying to adjust the laces to make them work but I think I'm going to need to exchange them for a 9...the upper is ROOMY (minimal padding, although the sole is WELL-cushioned)...the biggest-feeling 9.5 running shoe I've ever encountered! I'm bummed, because I really like the color I ordered, which isn't available in a 9. To those who've never worn Hokas: the rocker sole takes a bit of getting used to, but you won't be sorry! I'm a lifelong athlete now in my mid-40s with chronic hip/foot issues and this is the only brand I've found that lets me run without feeling serious repercussions the next day. So...try them for sure, but maybe skip the usual size-up that's recommended for running shoes - these are PLENTY roomy as-is....
