Amazing brand, comfortable but may run big

I recently discovered the Hoka One One brand and own another pair in the Clifton style that I bought in my usual 9.5 (half size bigger than usual shoes) and those have been working out fine. I also bought the Clayton in 9.5 and they are BIG. I've been trying to adjust the laces to make them work but I think I'm going to need to exchange them for a 9...the upper is ROOMY (minimal padding, although the sole is WELL-cushioned)...the biggest-feeling 9.5 running shoe I've ever encountered! I'm bummed, because I really like the color I ordered, which isn't available in a 9. To those who've never worn Hokas: the rocker sole takes a bit of getting used to, but you won't be sorry! I'm a lifelong athlete now in my mid-40s with chronic hip/foot issues and this is the only brand I've found that lets me run without feeling serious repercussions the next day. So...try them for sure, but maybe skip the usual size-up that's recommended for running shoes - these are PLENTY roomy as-is....
