Not to Shabby

The lacing system is quick, but difficult to work for downhills when you want to cinch up your toes. I think I'd rather just install traditional laces. In other Hoka boxes, I've received regular laces to swap out. I didn't get a pair in this box, so that was a little disappointing (but not the end of the world). Like every other Hoka, these shoes crush it with deep cushion, making my trail runs and hikes much more pleasant on aging knees. While the shoe does have an aggressive tread, the grip of the lugs is more akin to foam rubber coated in too slick outersole, and doesn't feel grippy on rounded/polished rock. I think having a tacky-ier outersole would help give me more confidence in descents. I didn't feel off balance or worry about rolling an ankle while moving on uneven terrain, I think Hoka has figured out how to create a stable platform while still providing that extra cushion.

Overall a great shoe form a company that I will continually purchase fat runners from.
