Why Change the toe box?

HOKA had a great thing going. This pair and the previous pair I purchased have a new, narrower toe box. I am pretty sure the HOKA street shoe now has a wider toe box than this trail shoe. Why? If you run on a technical trail with lots of rocks, roots, divots, elevation changes- you need a little room in the toe box for your forefoot to move around. Otherwise, the uneven terrain transfers the movement to your ankle. The shoe should take at least some of the inversion & eversion...not my foot! Feels like running in pointed toe dress shoes. I have a narrow foot so it must be uber tight for some. Now starts the search for a new (real) trail shoe. This would be a good shoe is your trail is flat & wide.
