Single-purpose raincoat

This is a terrific raincoat for dogs. It's big enough to go over warmer dog jackets and covers the chest and part of the belly with a wide strap piece that goes down over the chest then fastens over his back. The raincoat stays in place with two hind leg straps, which keep his haunches covered and keeps rain and cold wind from getting under the coat., s. The coat cinches closed around the neck to keep out cold air and water.

It isn't a dual-purpose jacket. It isn't fleece lined, but rather has a mesh lining under the "houndtex" (i.e. Goretex) shell. If I had realized that, I wouldn't have gotten it. It makes a good raincoat and windbreaker, but won't keep him warm.

If you're looking for a single-purpose dog raincoat, you can't do better. If you want a warm raincoat, put an insulating layer under this one (the Hurtta dog fleece is outstanding) or find another brand.
