Reviewed by Evan from MN on Tuesday, March 29, 2016First the "railings" aren't as structurally rigid as the main body of the pad, so they don't perform any real function. If anything they kind of provide an area of less padding.
The self inflating thing would be sweet, but after using this pad seven or so times it hasn't ever inflated itself past what a non-self inflating pad does.
Biggest problem is that the main body of the pad is starting to break free from the rest of the internal bits. I'm assuming there's an adhesive inside that bonds the internal structure bits to the outside. This part is failing and a growing bulge is forming that is really uncomfortable to sleep on.
Going to return this thing as soon as I get back from the trip i'm currently on.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Josh from Nevada on Sunday, December 6, 2015I just got this pad and it feels great when tested on a tile floor. Looking forward to getting out for testing in the field.
Reviewed by Roy from Idaho on Monday, August 3, 2015Nice pad, but it is narrow and thin. Great insulation from the cold ground and just enough cushion. I prefer a thicker pad for warmer camping but they don't seem to insulate as well in my opinion so this one works great when it's cooler. i now have this pad and a 3" sleeping pad and select between them depending on my trip and temperatures.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Motorcyclist8881 from Nevada on Monday, April 14, 2014at a good price, with a relatively high Rvalue, and small packed size for motorcycle camping.
Reviewed by frequent buyer from Santa Cruz, Ca on Tuesday, November 5, 20132 things that were not up to my expectations.
1 is that it didn't self inflate as it was supposed to do...not really a big deal, as it took a short time to blow it up.
However the railings on the side were quite confining, surprising as my son, for whom I bought it, is slender.
