I own at least a dozen different pairs of bike shorts, and these are the best, in padding, comfort, and quality of construction. Much better than spandex shorts, in my opinion.

I ordered a size up and got a good fit. Only complaint- the chamois seemed stiff when I was walking, but was fine while riding. I bought these to use for cold spring weather and worked great for this purpose. I'm a big Icebreaker and merino wool fan. All my base lyres are merino wooll. My first ride was 60 miles and they performed well. Don't see these replacing my Pearl Izuma or Descente shorts on a century ride, but great for spring training rides.
