I like the construction of the jacket and it feels high quality. However i do feel the fit is bigger than other icebreaker outerwear I've purchased. I ended up returned it as it was "swimming" in my usually size.

I live in Chicago, where the weather can go from -5 to 30 degrees in a heartbeat. I bought this coat and wondered whether or not to keep it for a few days. The snaps holding on the hood are barely strong enough to do the job; the pockets aren't deep or plentiful. But WOW WOW WOW is this thing comfortable!!! It's warmth to weight ratio is amazing, it's very windproof (think Chicago), it's breathable, and like all icebreaker products, it works very well in a wide temperature range. I went from "meh" to I love this thing after wearing it a week in a very wide range of temperatures, humidity levels, and wind.

nice coat but that hood snaps on and they are not very strong snaps.

Icebreaker makes great fleece and baselayer items. This jacket is of good quality and probably very warm. However, the fit is terrible. Its very baggy and the sleeves are way too long. The overall sizing is way off on this one. Also, the hood is a bit strange how it attaches and the weight of the jacket is far too heavy.

About Icebreaker

Unlike synthetic fabrics developed in a lab, Icebreaker merino wool is grown, cultivated and field-tested in the mountains. Designed to offer exceptional comfort during a range of outdoor sports, Icebreaker underwear and apparel naturally resists odors, regulates body temperature, wicks moisture and dries quickly.
