Verified Buyer Reviewed by New England_Hunter from New England on Friday, January 20, 2017I can't say much about these boots. I bought them for use in 2017. But I am very happy with what I have seen so far. They are all leather boots. They take a little to break them in which is what I expect from all leather boots. They are true to size which is a problem I have had with some insulated boots where they make a single size boot and offer different amounts of insulation. They stand up to streams and snow well. I have walked in them for up to an hour and they are comfortable but probably could do with inserts. My bext recommendation is that I bought a second pair.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by WhoAreWI from Wisconsin on Monday, November 28, 2016I'm really happy with these boots. My first application was tree stand hunting in a marshy area in 25° weather. My feet stayed nice and warm, despite the sedentary nature of sitting in the stand for hours. They also stayed bone dry despite standing water 4-5 inches deep in spots and some heavy, wet snow. I wore them for several days and logged about 5 miles with minimal break-in before hand. They are quite comfortable once you break them in enough to get the upper part flexing. Before that break-in, which only took a few hours, they were reminiscent of ski boots. This is my first pair of tall boots so it's all new to me. But I am really happy with them. Looking forward to using them in place of my big Sorel's for snow blowing and other winter activities.

These are glued on.
I just looked - they appear to be glued on. I've had several high-end pairs of boots (Asolo) with Vibram soles that lasted for over 5 years of near constant use while I worked as a wildlife biologist. I wouldn't let the glued on soles deter you from buying these boots. I wore them this elk season and, while they require a significant break-in, they are great grippy boots.
